I met another bobcat
I hiked to the field where kestrels had hunted for the past few years and there were none this morning. That field used to be my destination if I wanted to spot a kestrel. What I saw was a bobcat, red-tailed hawk, cooper’s hawks and a peregrine. The sky was cloudy and there was drizzle earlier. The camera settings were tuff to get right. Luckily the bobcat was about 50 feet away, so the camera settings didn’t get blown out by the glaring marine layer clouds. I still had issues with my setting because the autofocus kept focusing on the grass surrounding the bobcat; I’m glad the bobcat didn’t immediately turn and run because the first snaps were not focused. My luck ran out snapping the raptors. The peregrine approached from the east and its angle was about 60 degrees above my head, pretty much in the direction of the sun, the picture is a composition of bright sky and a small dark bird. I might have a decent snap of the coop because it was perched on a power line and I was looking south southwest.
