a merlin and rain

My rain gauge normally collects between three and four inches in March, but this year my rain gauge was dry until this evening. And I usually spot merlins around my house and at the river. But for the first and only time this month I snapped a merlin that circled my backyard this afternoon. Both events were rare this month and then having them occur on the same day is worth noting
